My paintings inspire you to cultivate belonging wherever you are

About Me

I used to think that moving was my natural rhythm of life.

Staying in one place is a challenge.

I was born in England and have lived in Burundi, Uganda, Germany, England, France, Kenya, Canada and four different places in Switzerland. I currently live with my husband near Zurich, in Switzerland.

So in many ways I am a typical Third Culture Kid; I grew up in cultures other than my parents' culture and the culture of my passport country.

It takes time and energy to invest in friendships and to make this place my home. I sometimes feel like I am missing out on something by not travelling.

However, at the moment I have chosen to stay where I am in order to gain work experience and to invest in my local community.

I am now aware that moving again won’t make everything easier. I have realised that I need a certain stability.

I am learning to adapt and find a sense of belonging that does not depend on external circumstances. I choose to be intentional about the roots I plant and nurture.

I have learnt to be the one to initiate friendships, but also to be true to who I am and to what is important to me.
